The Raga deep dive courses are aimed at internalising Raga concepts. Brindavani Sarang also known as Sarang is one of the first few Ragas introduced to a student of classical music. This Raga could be traced back to its folk origins as well as the Raga Lakshana Granthas. With its simplistic Audav structure, this Raga is sung during noon and is associated with summer season.

Objectives

To practise singing the Swaras of  Brindavani Sarang in various Alankar patterns and Paltas

To do Swar Sadhana exercises

To create and sing the Swar Vistar in  Sarang

To learn a Chhota Khayal with Aalap and Taan in Raga  Sarang

To review the Chhota Khayal already learnt in Sarang

To review the Tarana that has been composed by the student earlir/ compose a Tarana

 

The student has completed HV203 at the academy OR the student has practiced a variety of Alankars, the student has learnt Chhota Khayal in about 10 Ragas with Swar Vistar, Aalap and Taan.

Present the Chhota Khayals in Raga  Brindavani Sarang with development in Aalap and Taan Vistar 

Present the self composed Tarana

Identify related Ragas by listening
